Broad City

Broad City is a widely acclaimed situational comedy coming from production studios 3 Arts Entertainment, Jax Media, Paper Kite Productions and Comedy Partners. This original series is inspired by a web series of the same name telecast between 2009 and 2011. It is developed by Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, who also star in the sitcom. Broad City first hit the small screen on January 22, 2014.

The storyline of Broad City takes place in New York, the busiest city in the world, and revolves around two headstrong women, Abbi and Ilana. It is a story about two friends with small income and huge troubles and how they overcome it with humor and optimism. Typical female problems like sex and beauty, bodily function shame and a broken gadget never overwhelm them.

Despite the simple plot and ordinary woman life in the modern world depicted in Broad City, the series has become a critics' darling and faced a handful of nominations. It is also holding 9.8/10 on Rotten Tomatoes and 8.5/10 score on IMDb based on almost 17 thousand votes. The writers of Broad City have enjoyed acclaim for their witty writing. The ratings have been good so far, though not very impressive - Broad City attracts about a million viewers per season. However, it is enough for the producers to pick up the series for further installments.
