Dark Net

Dark Net is another fresh name among original docu-shows on the Showtime channel. The new educational series is a product of studios Vocaltv and Part2 Productions. Dark Net is developed by Matt Kochavi and exec produced by Danna Rabin, Vivian Schiller and David Shadrack Smith. The documentary program was released in the US in the end of January 2016.

Presented by Lauren Terp, Dark Net takes a close and unbiased look at the digital advancements of the past years and the negative aspects that have appeared as the result of internet use. As the internet is easily available to more and more people, plenty of problems and breaches of law have come to the surface in the past decade that include various online cults, cyber kidnapping, thefts, sex trade and so on. Lauren Tepr lets us observe all these issues, with the help of website producers, victims and internet players.

Chapter 1 of Dark Net lying in eight episodes has enjoyed critical accolades due to its compelling nature and the evident relevance and importance of the issues discussed. The profound and exciting series has a good IMDb score of 7.8/10 and just 59% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is not the highest result, despite the show’s strong directing and its topicality.
