South of Hell

South of Hell is a new cocktail made of thriller, fantasy, horror and drama, that has been drunk by the WE tv network’s viewers in the United States since November 27, 2015. The new series comes from executive producers Eli Roth and Jason Blum, who have already worked in collaboration on such projects as Hemlock Grove, Cabin Fever, Insidious and The Visit. South of Hell is a creative effort of Matt Lambert coming from production studio A Sonar Entertainment.

The storyline of the supernatural drama is set in South Carolina and follows Maria Abascal, a sought out demon hunter. However, Maria is not an idealist, who is determined to clear the world off the darkness. It is the evil energy that gives her power as she extracts the power from the ones she hunts. Such stars as Mena Suvari Zachary Booth, Lamman Rucker, Paulina Singer and Drew Moerlein are featured in South of Hell.

Season 1 of the supernatural drama series amounts to seven sixty-minute parts that all came out on the same day. The initial reviews were rather mixed from both the critics and the viewers. The negative opinions come from those who consider that the cast was chosen badly, that the acting is mediocre and that there is too little budget. The positive reviews owe to the experienced creative team and a good story. Hopefully, the creators will find a way to improve South of Hell and it will be on a roll very soon!
