The X Factor

The X Factor is a world-renowned UK long-running singing contest that first hit the small screen in September 2004. The hit program is a brainchild of a famous British music and TV producer Simon Cowell. From the release moment and till 2011, The X Factor was produced by Talkback Thames, but later Syco Entertainment and Thames owed the rights for the show. Executive producers Simon Cowell, Richard Holloway, Beth Hart, Mark Sidaway, and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini stand behind The X Factor.

The idea of the competition is simple – there is an expert judging panel and aspiring singers struggling for the victory. In most recent seasons the jury consisted of Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora. The constant part of The X Factor, Louis Walsh, left the program, to the disappointment of millions of fans. Recently, one important change has been introduced to the audience – now they can influence the distribution of the categories of contestants between the jury.

The X Factor franchise is spread around the globe, from Brazil to Denmark and from US to Singapore. The fact that The X Factor is currently having 12 wins and 7 nominations including 2013 People's Choice Awards, USA win as Favorite Competition TV Show and 2012 Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Costumes confirms the extremely positive feedback on the series.
